best band since....er... the libertines?

poor pete, must be kicking himself for getting chucked out the band. these kids have a bright future though, i've heard them

Great stuff, I've not heard such good music in ages, especially the unstoppably uptempo title track and the suberbly wierd 'gin and milk'.

Almost as good as it gets.

Carl waited a long time before coming out (sic) with his new band Dirty Pretty Things and for a debut single this is pretty spectacular, jaunty guitars blended well with Carls beautifly melodic voice, the lyrics are mostly inspired however they are missing the poetry that Pete brought to The Libertines, nevertheless it is clear that Carl has the musical baclground and is influenced by some seminal bands. Hey, anyone who sings the word tawdry in a song is alright by me!

After the Libertines broke up in fall 2004, singer/songwriter and guitarist Carl Barat began work on his next musical project. Signing to the U.K. label Vertigo almost immediately after the band dissolved, Barat worked on songs on his own and eventually recruited his former bandmate Gary Powell as the drummer for his new group. He also brought in Anthony Rossomando — who had been Pete Doherty's replacement in the Libertines when Doherty was arrested in summer 2004 — as second guitarist....
