Album Review

The first full-length release in a style that, like its close relatives hip-hop and techno, began as a 12-inch genre. The album laid much important groundwork for experimental junglists like Photek, Subtropic, and Goldie, with the styles more common rhythmic brashness informed by a bit of perspicacity, making for a measured, eminently listenable collection.

ahead of its time when i bought it on vinyl (techno and drum&bass greald style)

this is truly a brilliant album, I purchased a copy back in 1995 and still listen and play it now when I DJ, if you like to experiment try it, it will grow on you. Some of the beats are way out with a combination of techno, soul, jazz and drums. I pure joy to listen to. Well ahead of its time from a master producer for sure.

an amazing masterpiece

this is a beautiful and ahead of its time record. So glad itunes has it as it is "out of print" and rare - tried tracking it down on amazing but the disc which is 2nd hand is coming in at over £20 for a used copy and £35 for a mint condition copy!

28 Gun Bad Boy!!

A GUY CALLED GERALD, a legend anyway, then he hits you with Drum & Bass!! When Drum & Bass was exploding on the scene, back in the 90's!! I was waiting and waiting for AGCG's album to come out! It was one of those records that i had just bought and couldnt wait to get home to play it! BUY IT!!!

Starting with Chicago house and moving through Detroit techno, acid house, electro, hardcore techno, and currently drum'n'bass, Gerald's been an influential contributor to most of recent dance music's most important stopping points. Although his highest-profile moment came in the form of the late-'80s ubiquitous club hit "Voodoo Ray,"...
