Come again?
I took a major risk by getting this album, i mean i have heard of mastodon before but i was never really intrested until i heard crystal skull and was amazed by it . Mastodon have the heavyness and speed of slayer and the complex style of tool combined together to make a brillant album. Best album of 2006 ( until deftones comes out next month ).
Suprising
I'm getting more and more into metal and this album has really suprised me. I only bought this because it was voted best album of 2006 by total guitar and its not hard to see why. this album is chock full of brilliant riffs and solos and has a great concept. this band is now one of my faveourite metal bands now so for the love of god buy this!!
Mesmerising
After the masterpiece that was Leviathan, Mastodon have done it once again. Kicking off with the fast and furious The Wolf is Loose to the slower and mid-paced stoner-like groove of Pendulous Skin, the album simply pulses with progessive-style riffs and percussion. In such a short space of time, Mastodon are slowly becoming a force to be reckoned with in the land of metal. Ignore this band at your peril.
