Customer Reviews

Contains a classic

I am reviewing one song rather than the album and that is "Captain of her Heart". It is one of my all-time favourite Love Songs - the melody of the song combined with the piano gives it a very pensive, even melancholic tone and the solos are just perfect. I have been waiting for this version to reappear for a while. This should be on your Favourite's List...

Only one stand out track here, but go for the second album!!

Again, as previously reviewed by another, I am only really only going to comment and give five stars to the main track from this album which was the gorgeous 1986 hit 'Captain of her heart' . I have had a preview of the other tracks on this album and I would have to say forget it! It's quite raw sounding 80's techno/euro/pop and very dated. Nothing else stands out at all. By comparison, the second album is really polished and most definately worth a listen. If you liked Johnny Hates Jazz, then it will be for you. 'Devil's Ball' is the worthy contender to 'Captain of her Heart' and it was released here in 1987 but didn't fare too well in the charts. It has a lush, piano melody and one with which you can quite easily drift off into daydream mode! Shame they never quite made it in the UK as they did in Europe.

A great song that sums up the era

Captain of her heart is one of the best tunes of 1986. I'd advise anyone to buy this song simply for it's mellow and calming effect. Class!

Vocalist and guitarist Kurt Maloo, a one-time aspiring painter, had been in various Zurich bands throughout the '70s, managing a bit of notoriety. Drummer Felix Haug had spent the same period of time touring with various bands all over Europe and Asia. He even spent a brief period of time drumming with art rock...
