Quality

Tom123456.......Suprised you got to 6 mate. Clearly, you prefer music that has no substance, no thought, no meaning and no heart to it. Let me guess, you listen to Wigan Pier volume 26 each night. Banging.

To anyone who has a)musical taste and b)their own thought process, this album is quality. Turin Brakes deserve so much more. Every album is brilliant on it's own merits, moving the band in different directions. Jackinabox is, for me, one of the best acoustic albums in the last 25 years, and if Underdog (band's first single) doesn't capture you, then nothing will.

...Apart from Wigan Pier, in which case, Tom123456 will lend you a copy.

Acoustic at it's best. I can't believe that after 10 years of beautiful music they are still slipping under the radar. Olly and Gale's music never fails to put a smile on my face. I urge everone to buy this album of their finest work to date.

One important element missing

Turin Brakes, for me, are one of the most underestimated bands we have ever produced and having seen them live at the Brixton Academy some 4 years or so ago they confirmed that live they are equally impressive. But those in charge of the track listings have done it again and missed some of the more influencial tracks, for those who first brought Ether Song and forgot to turn off when Rain City finished will know what i mean. The Ether Song was the hidden track that is haunting and stuns me still now when i hear it. Corporate Shills, it would seem, have very little understanding of how these bands are appreciated.

Often compared to Coldplay and Travis, Turin Brakes were an English, folk-inspired duo that hailed from Balham, London. Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian were friends in elementary school and decided to try out for the cathedral choir because it would perform in front of the Queen of England, which it eventually did. The two aspiring musicians, influenced by a unique range of artists that included Sebadoh, Truman's Water, Prince, and the Black Crowes, formed a band and recorded their freewheeling...
