Wow, Just wow.

I have been anticipating the release of Hybrid's new album and single for a while, they have been sorely overdue in releasing a new one, but wow, they have delivered.

Breaky my soul is such a beautiful piece of music, coupled with excellent vocals and mixing.

I really cannot wait for the album!

Hybrid have been one of my favourite 'electronica' acts since their debut album Wide Angle back in 1999. Their combination of real orchestral movements with cutting edge production, breaks and sounds have always struck a chord with me. Whether they are producing heartbreaking string arrangements or utilising the beautiful voices of their guest vocalists or burning up the dancefloor with frantic breaks and basslines each track and subsequent album release has captivated me from the start.

Break My Soul is the first track released from their forthcoming album, Disappear Here, with the beautiful vocals of their new resident vocalist, Charlotte James who adds yet another fascinating layer to the Hybrid sound. Break My Soul features a fantastic arrangement performed by the Prague Symphonic Orchestra adding depth and warmth to the almost eastern sounding melody and further complements Charlottes breathy vocals. The big surprise is the breakdown half way through Break My Soul adding yet more tenderness to the track which is perfectly framed in the music video which then blends seemlessly back into the main melody.

If this track is any indication of the forthcoming album, it is possibly going to beat the flawless Wide Angle album in my opinion. I've already pre ordered the album on the strength of this track and I am certain I am not going to be disappointed.

Here's to another 10 years of the fantastic Hybrid.

Hybrid began as a trio of remixers based in the Welsh city of Swansea: Mike Truman, Chris Healings, and Lee Mullin. Meeting while going to clubs in the early '90s, the three made their own remixes of recordings, eventually earning assignments from record companies to pursue their hobby professionally. Finally, they were signed to Distinct'ive Records and embarked on making an ambitious first album, Wide Angle, in Moscow, using such talents as singer Julee Cruise and the 90-piece Russian Federal Orchestra....
