Just wanna start by saying that the comment below mine makes no sense. If you find the films he's scored moving, chances are his music is contributing to that big time. Maybe subconsciously. Take the music out of a film and you'll see (hear) what I mean. As a Newman fan, I would say this isn't his best in terms of stand alone soundtracks. In the end, it was written for a film, not as a solo album and this particular selection of tracks works better in combination with said film. That's just my opinion though. If you're a fan with cash on the hip, get it!
Dull and uninspiring
Strange that Mr Newman has written music for some wonderfully moving films but his scores never add anything within the film and definitely do not make good CD listening. Buy a John Barry soundtrack instead
