Soundtrack to the Apocalypse
Being a metal fan for many many years one thing that constantly pops up is the opinion that mixing various electronic genres with metal, well just isn't 'real metal'. However, if like me you're an open minded guy (or gal) then this could quite possibly be one of the finest albums you've ever heard.
Crabcore, Deathcore or whatever you wanna call it well I don't do genres I do music, and this album contains a collection of finely crafted songs that are guaranteed to attach themselves to your soul for many weeks to come. Jonny Mcbee's deep growling vocals really set the tone, accompanied by the low decimating sound of the guitar work, menacing percussion and crazy dark synth leads that wouldn't sound out of place at some underground hardstyle club. When all this is fused together you have a sonically charged hellfest that is 'Burn This World'.
For me at least The Browning set the standard for how a controversial genre should be interspersed with metal, I have never before heard it done with such perfection and style. Songs such as 'Living Dead' and 'Tradegy of Perfection' present this concept flawlessly, but there really isn't a 'so so' track to be found on the album, each has it's own dark and disturbing presence which I think is an absolute testament to what The Browning have achieved here.
So do yourself a favour and grab this album now - gather your close friends, grab a six pack and sit and watch the world burn...
Without a shadow of a doubt 5 very shiny stars.
