Stunning debut EP
I first caught the title track - "Carry Your Heart') on Radio 2 - and was immediately struck by the incredible voice I heard. So very haunting - it's almost gothic in places. The single has fantastic production by Liam Howe (best known for Sneaker Pimps) but the rest of the EP also showcases an impressive voice that can be at once fragile ("Waiting To Breathe") and powerful, spinning a gossamer web of delicate instrumentation. Although you might draw comparisons to other contemporary female artists such as Bat For Lashes and Polly Scattergood. Catherine is a talent all of her very own. Can't wait for a full length player. Great retake on a Magnetic Fields song here too.
