Album Review
The first U.S. release from Charice, a Filipina pop star inspired by Celine Dion and Whitney Houston, this self-titled album follows a pair of releases that went platinum in the singer’s native country. Issued the day after her 18th birthday and promoted with her fourth appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Charice is a ballad-heavy set containing material written by Diane Warren, Ryan Tedder, and mentor David Foster.

A Beautiful Talet, yet wasted on the debut.
"Charice" is the debut album by Filipina singer Charice Pempengco. This album is consistent all the way through with condradictory and half hearted ballads about heartbreak and love, generic and boring, yet shows off the incredible voice of Charice, who recently joined the cast of "Glee". Standout tracks are Pyramid, Reset, and I Love You, however each of these songs are the clearest out of a bag of muddy diamond. The exceedingly short tracklist proves disappointing. Charice should of used her debut album for reflecting on the sounds of 2010, and have a much for upbeat and lively feel, with uptempo music. Instead, she ahs chosen to stcik to safe ballads and "pretty" vocals. On the other hand, the visuals of the album are stunning, and it is clear to see that Charice is a beautiful girl. The album, however, should be re-released with a happier and more upbeat feel to it, as it is the only way to break into mainstream music right now, as this is clearly what Charice is trying to do.

She has an amazing voice!!!!!! Saw her on glee and she was amazing. Love Pyramid and Nobody Loves Me. I hope she does well.
