Album Review
Singer/songwriter Yoav's debut album Charmed & Strange is an atmospheric and percussive affair that brings to mind a mix of Nine Inch Nails, Justin Timberlake, and Peter Gabriel. At one time a more traditional song writer, Yoav began combining his love of club and electronic music into his compositions and developed a unique approach that relies more on rhythmic figures on his guitar than melodic chords. As such, most of the tracks here largely consist of percussive acoustic guitar lines over which he sings in a yearning, poetic alt rock style. While this is a forward-thinking and cerebral affair, as Yoav has a love of dance music, he often works with funky grooves and rhyming lyrics that should appeal to fans with a club-oriented aesthetic. In that sense, you can think of Charmed & Strange as thought-provoking afterglow cabaret for club kids.

A spectacle of sound
This album is pure beauty and has a great sound, very easy to relax to and just easy listning. His voice is pure wonder and is something like I've never heard before, they lyrics are good. This man has a good future before him, support him by buying this album. You won't be dissapointed.
Praise where it's warranted
Powerful vocals, strong lyrics and beautifully simple layering of a few instruments go together to create this really excellent album. I buy the odd track here and there off iTunes - but in this case after sampling Yoav's songs bought the entire album. There's not one bad track. It's the best thing I've heard in a long time, I'd definately pay the money to see this guy live.

I got the free download on a whim, and was completely blown away... and the rest of the album is better. One chap with an acoustic guitar showing the world what the word 'musician' means. I'd urge anyone to check out Beautiful Lie - you won't be disappointed.
