Another damn partial album. AAARGH!!! SHAME ON APPLE FOR THOSE PARTIAL ALBUMS!!! 3 songs (more than 25 minutes!) are missing, which ruins the whole experience. That's why I've given it only 2 stars. I mean, this is a musical, it only makes sense if ALL the songs are there. Don't get me wrong, if this was a complete album, I would have given it 5 stars without hesitation, no doubt about it. But the fact that 3 songs are missing makes me glad that I have Chess (the exact same recordings as sold here) on CD :-)
Chess
When i first heard this album i was blown away, it was supposed to be a musical but i had never heard a musical in this style before. I has an eclectic mix of sounds and styles and does have some traditional musical influences. This was a concept album and not many musicals had started life as a cocept album before but im glad this did as it wetted my appitite and i couldt waite to see the origional production at the Prince Edward theater and i wasnt dissapointed it was visually stunning unlike any musical i had ever seen before using the latest techknowogy. The cast were superb some of the people featured on the concept album appeard in the london production. Elaine Page gave a tour de force performance that i will never forget. I know the cold war theme may seem a little dated now but i think this musical stands its ground and will last the test of time.
the best ever musical
This shouldn't be allowed the VERY BEST song from this great musical is missing "you and I" is the best musical song in the world and shouldn't have been omitted, apart from that every one must listen to this the musics superb, lyrics sublime,perfomances outstanding,and it's not even the best recording,track down the danish version [song in english] and be bowled over,the swedish versions great as well
