Formed in 2009 by Yourcodenameis:Milo and the Automatic member Paul Mullen, Young Legionnaire came about after Mullen and Bloc Party bassist Gordon Moakes hit it off during a one-off recording project put together by Mullen a few years earlier. When the two found both of their main gigs on hiatus for the winter, they decided to start their own project, recruiting La Roux’s touring drummer Will Bowerman to handle percussion duties.
