Sleigh Bells are back with a bang!
These two tracks are the first to drop from Sleigh Bells' upcoming album "Reign Of Terror", and they have followed the trademark Sleigh Bells sound but there's clearly a lot more pop in the mix this time around. Alexis' vocals are more 'syrupy' than before, but I for one LOVE this, and these songs are much more immediately catchy than most of the tracks on Treats. Derek's production and guitar is fantastic here, and I am a huge fan of the way that he has combined the heavy guitars with the electronic pop- it seems to mesh much more fluidly on these two tracks than some of the weaker tracks on Treats (e.g. Rachel). I am happy that Sleigh Bells are back, and if you were a fan of Treats you will NOT be dissapointed. Roll on Reign Of Terror, and I hope to see these guys live when they next tour the UK (and meet Alexis again!).
Probably a Grower...
I loved Sleigh Bells on Treats, but i'm finding this less original.
I'll probably end up loving it though.
Hope Reign of Terror lives up to my expectations!
