Italia

Italia

This album is Mastered for iTunes. The rising star Italian-Scots violinist has established a reputation for embracing contemporary compositions, tackling new and previously unrecorded works by Sir John Tavener and conductor/composer James McMillan. For her sixth album, Italia, the Yehudi Menuhin School alumna focuses on an entirely different era, performing the works of three Baroque-era composer/violinists from Venice. Perfectly paired with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Christian Curnyn, Benedetti revisits works by Vivaldi and his peers Giuseppe Tartini and Francesco Veracini. Winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition at 16, she plays with authoritative grace and concludes the album with the familiar “Summer” concerto from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Italia comes with a 14-page digital booklet including liner notes and photos.
