it grows on you

My friends introduced me to Bring Me The Horizon a while back, with their first album. I listened to them for about a week, then got very bored of them. When asked, iIve been saying that i don't like ever since. Then I heard this. Wow. Boy have I changed my mind. They combine classic metal guitar riffs with the new-age vocals and screaming of todays more mainstream screamo/metal etc acts. Obviously, if you dont like this style of music, then you aren't going to like this band. But if you like acts like Enter Shikari, Bulet For My Valentine, Killswitch Engage, I Killed The Prom Queen, etc, then i think you'll like this band too. I have to say this everytime i make a review, but can i just point out to other potential reviewers that a review is designed to help people to decide whether or not to buy an album, and therefore should make a SUPPORTED, FACTUAL analysis of the music, not the band's look. To put down a band because you dont like them is sad and proves nothing else than that you really do have nothing better to do...

tapping & pinched harmonics!

that's why i like BMTH. seriously, far too many people are like 'OMGZZZ OLI SYKES". lee's tapping in medusa is really good, and curtis plays some amazing palm muted rhythm in that medusa solo! so, yeah, buy it. it's actually good music. they've got a lot better since the first CD which i though was pretty much fantastic, anyway! plus, they grow their own fruit, curtis told me. hahah :)

Pretty Good Stuff!

First of all, If you like Pantera, Machine Head etc. - This album is proberbly not for you. Same goes for if you like 'emo' bands, this will proberbly not be for you. BUT - if you like music that is an audio assult on your sences, look no more. This is 30 minutes of harsh vocals, heavy guitar riffs and excellent solo work which just proves the talent that this band has. I expect bigger and better things in the future for BMTH, surely being one to look out for in the coming years. Listen to the clips of the first 3 songs and you will be able to decide if you will like this or not. Personally, i think this album was worth every penny, but i can see why some people wouldn't like it. Give it a listen!
