Wow.

Avenged Sevenfold have always been a great band. but with this song they have reached new heights. If "Critical Acclaim" is anything to go by, one of their best songs so far, then their new album "Avenged Sevenfold", released 30th October, will be their greatest work to date. The guitar in this song is amazing, and with M. Shadows powerful voice teamed with The Rev's distinctive vocals this could quite possibly be the best song i have heard so far this year, and i doubt it will be beaten. They have once again proved themselves to be THE rock band of the moment. If you have never listened to A7X before, then you dont know what you're missing out on :P. If you have listened to them before and never liked them, then this could very well be the song to change your opinion. A top effort from the Orange County mob, i would highly recommend it to anyone. Oh My.

A7X's new song is uh - immense! It's like 'Sounding The Seventh Trumpet' + 'Waking The Fallen' x 'City Of Evil' = 'Critical Acclaim'. It's a complete mixture of everything, screaming, amazing guitar solo's and even some melodic singing. I must admit that i wasn't too fond of it when i first heard it, but now i've grown to love it. The Rev's voice is so contrasting to Shadows that it gives the song that edge, that finesse that A7X always manages to produce. It might not be to everyone's tastes, some people love 'Waking The Fallen' others prefer 'City Of Evil' both albums showing the band's abilities to produce a variety of sounds, but i would recommend this song to anyone - Especially those who love A7X no matter what sort of music they are producing; willing to give anything a try. 'Critical Acclaim' has set the standards high for the album. Let's hope they pull it off!

Amazing!

This song is perfectly combined with the sounds of both Waking the Fallen and City of Evil albums, which can only mean the entire album will be a combination of both too! Although Shadows said that this new album won't be a sequel to his previous albums, this song does have a variety of conventions borrowed from them. I think "Avenged Sevenfold" will be A7X's biggest album to-date and it will be a breakthrough, as City of Evil got them a really good name. BRING ON 29/10/2007!!!!!

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

The members of metalcore outfit Avenged Sevenfold (or A7X) were still attending high school in Huntington Beach, CA, when they formed their band in 1999. Nevertheless, it didn't take long for M. Shadows (vocals), Zacky Vengeance (guitar), Synyster Gates (guitar), the Reverend (drums), and Johnny Christ (bass) to make an impression with their aggressive hybrid of metal, hard rock, and punk-pop. The band made its official debut in July 2001, releasing Sounding the Seventh Trumpet on the Good Life label...
