This is Where iTunes Fails...

This is, of course, one of the greatest albums of all time. It's been an amazing sonic experience since it's original release in 1973.

This is the newly remastered version being offered here. And this is where I have my problem. What exactly is the point of offering a remastered album of this quality at 256kbps? Why on earth doesn't Apple/iTunes offer this as Lossless at least?

If you going to buy this album, I would highly recommend buying the CD. In most cases you'll get it cheaper and the quality will be far superior.

Any Format You Like...

Beyond all of the audiophile arguments (Lossless? CD? Vinyl?), this is actually where iTunes wins. People who love this incredible album will have it already, in whichever beloved format they prefer. New generations, who have yet to appreciate its brilliance, can now access it in a way they are familiar with, allowing the music to live on and reach those new audiences. Isn't that a good thing?

Despite their astral image, the group was brought down to earth in the '80s by decidedly mundane power struggles over leadership and,...
