iTunes Review
Like an aging heavyweight returning to the ring after months of rigorous training, Metallica appear chiseled and focused for Death Magnetic. It was paramount that Metallica prove to its fans that they still pack the ferocity and muscle of Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets and prove it they do: Death Magnetic is an awe-inspiring display of power. The hands-off production strategy of Rick Rubin gives the listener the impression that we are hearing Metallica naked — playing together in a room, without overdubs or extraneous effects, and with only their skills as musicians to protect them. The album abandons concept for pure technique, and Death Magnetic is a master class in dynamics, tempo changes, and rhythmic interplay. After being relegated a subordinate role on previous albums, Kirk Hammett finally emerges as this album’s MVP. His solos on “That Was Just Your Life”, “Cyanide”, and “All Nightmare Long” are passages of pure electrocution. After several years of fracture and frustration that threatened the existence of Metallica, perhaps the best news Death Magnetic delivers is that this metal institution once again sounds like an all-for-one band.

Former Sceptic
First thing I'd say is buy the whole album rather than "complete my album" Theres been additional mastering that has resolved the low end spikes in the drums (ie at the end of "The Day That Never Comes") The guitars are beefy-er as in BIG. Right with that out the way, what can I say? This album is at this moment blowing me away (12:53 am) THIS IS A THRASH ALBUM!!!!!!! I doubted Metallica after repeated disappointments over the last few albums. This is the best album I've heard in years (regardless of band) True Metallica, I'll see you all at the countless gigs we will be unable to resist METAL UP YOUR *SS!!!!!!
iTunes = Clowns
iTunes you guys are clowns... You are trying to rip off the general public! Do the sums... 10 tracks at 79p = £7.99 for the album! How can you justify £10.99? Is the digital booklet worth £3?
Death Magnetic
Metallica are back!!! It has been 5 years since a Metallica album and now they are back on form with their ninth studio album, DEATH MAGNETIC. This album is the first album in which new bassist Robert Trujillo has featured on and it is their first to be produced by Rick Rubin, who has produced bands such as System Of A Down, Slayer and Rage Against the Machine. Death Magnetic is a lot different from their 2003 album St Anger. They have brought back the solo’s similar to the solos heard of And Justice For All and The Black Album. The first release from the album The Day That Never Comes is very epic and similar in sound to the metal classic One. From the countdown to Death Magnetic they have also released My Apocalypse, Cyanide and Judas Kiss, which also very epic and a lot different to songs off St Anger. If you are a Metallica fan, then there is no doubt that you must own this album. All of this album is also going to available to download for the Guitar Hero 3 : Legends of Rock and Guitar Hero 4 : World Tour. Death Magnetic is going to be huge and it is great to have a classic metal band like Metallica, return with another great album. Death Magnetic gets 10/10. Top 6 1 – The Day That Never Comes 2 - The Unforgiven III 3 – My Apocalypse 4 – That Was Just Your Life 5 – Cyanide 6 – Judas Kiss Song Ratings That Was Just Your Life – 9/10 The End Of The Line – 8/10 Broken, Beat & Scared – 9/10 The Day That Never Comes – 10/10 All Nightmare Long – 9/10 The Unforgiven III – 10/10 The Judas Kiss – 8/10 Suicide & Redemption – 8/10 My Apocalypse – 10/10
