Good, solid debut from up and coming artist.

     

A strong debut from Livan. Firstly, I'd like to point out that I like the way he twists styles of old music with his own alternative streak, making his influences very clear, and standing himself out from the crowd of modern chart music. His songs vary a lot from one to another, and make great use of each component of his band, which is great considering that popular music is getting more sample and electronic based as time goes on, and the work to make the live sound cannot be appreciated. The record itself, is not over produced, in contrast with a lot of modern music. This is good, as any band with similar band components as Livan would create huge differences in the sound between an over produced record and the band's live sound, which can be disappointing for fans. Keep a tab on Livan, as this is a fantastic record and a definite recommendation!
