Somewhere Inbeween

My opinion is all that matters
This starts off sounding like a wasted sunny day you'll never forget, and ends up sounding like the wasted confusion the following morning! Well if you're wondering what on Earth this is all about, then I'll tell you...
In 2004 Caned & Able aired their "Beats for Bars" projects (2 hours of non-stop mash-ups involving 180 songs) on Eddy Temple-Morris' Remix show on Xfm, along with "True Religion", now released on this EP.
After a while of being missing in action, Caned & Able released their debut album "Smoke..." on Malicious Damage Records. The record was not what was expected as it was basically a very chilled affair (hence the title). All the same, it turned heads and so their official capacity was born. Not happy with sticking to any particular style, C&A continue to DJ in London and have announced that their second album "Mirrors" promises to be full of high energy material more closely matched to their DJing styles.
This "Deuteronomy EP" is clearly just a stepping-stone, a marker between two halves of what is essentially a double album.
There are also some recognizable moments lifted from "Smoke...", namely the title track (though this is the Original 2004 Vocal version), Trav'lin Light (DJ Henry B Remix - who's he?!?) and Marc Bolan's ramblings on "The Wizard", which can also be heard on "Deaf Aid" (which is found on "Smoke..."). They must be the greenest act in the music business, the amount of recycling they do...
Anyway - roll on "Mirrors", that's what I say!
These are a crafty lot, Caned & Able, and I'll be keeping an eye on them....
They're so full of contradictions that you just never know what you're gonna get. And I love it!
