One of the most inspiring worship albums I have heard.
Devoted is inspirational and sets itself apart from many albums by leaving you uplifted, moved and joyous. It's the sort of album that even the staunchest and most reserved Brit can't help raising ones hands and praising God. I'd happlily share many of these songs with my non-Christian friends too!
With 17 excellent tracks to choose from, it's a great value album yet never compromises on the quality of each one of it's tracks. It does make it a difficult album to review because there is so much about so many of the songs that is so good.
'New Song' is just one of those songs which lifts your spirits and makes you want to throw off your inhibitions and whistle along to its catchy rythm. It's one of those songs that anyone, Christian or not, will be lifted by.
'Jalali Yesu' and YEshu Mashihki Jai are both must-haves for anyone open to a foot-stomping cultural experience and reveals Evan's cultural background in South Africa and Dubai. Both sail you along with a wonderful Indian edge and great harmonies.
"Let the Nations be Glad" just makes we want to play the air-guitar and learn the drums whilst filling you with a sense of gladness of God's presence.
"Still On The Throne" takes you through solemn moments reinforcing the Truth of God's presence even in moments when you wonder exactly where God has gone!
I could go on talking about so many of the tracks but I'd recommend you simply buy the album and decide for yourself!!
PS, We are Going/ The Church is Moving On is my personal favourite, but it's a close call with New Song!
Multi-Cultural worship at its best
Excellent album from an excellent worship leader. If you read Rev 7:9-17 you'll realise that multicultural worship is at the very heart of God. 'You are number 1' tops the bill for me as a song that will bring life and joy into your worship, for all generations to enjoy singing.
Brilliant!
Full of biblical truth this album has such a variety of rhythms and melodies. I just love singing along to it! You just can't help but move your feet!
