UK Dance Celebration from late 80's to present day

     

An excellent debut album by a clearly accomplished producer. I am an avid fan of the UK Dance scene with my roots going back to the Jungle and Technology days of the late 80's and early 90's when gameboys were mind-boggingly new and the latest talk on the playground taking over from Top Trumps and Corgi/matchbox cars. This album is a celebration of the UK Dance scene from the late 80's unto the present day. Emalkay's use of, or more pertinently his "qualitative use" of the transformer-esque b-lines akin to the latest dub step tracks of late is sublimely placed in juxtaposition with more liquid sounds especially with reference to the track "When I Look At You". The big 90's vocals are used to perfection. Listening to this album teleports me back in time to a place when it was always summer and life was care free yet not losing the experiences gained. Listening to this album will also give a good account of the UK Dance scene to new listeners.

If you, like myself, were into the UK drum and bass scene from its infancy you will most likely have a special place for this album. Definitely a modern classic in the making.
