Not bad, but still overrated

The Twang, contrary to popular opinion, are not the greatest British band in the history of ever. This is certainly an improvement on the lad rock tripe of "Wide Awake", and is a world away from the embarassing "The Neighbour". At times it's rather beautiful and affecting, particularly when lead vocalist Phil Etheridge wails "I love yow!" over a dreamy backdrop of guitar and spacious bass, but the song is ultimately let down when The Twang's laddish tendencies and lyrical blunders come to the fore. With a chorus of "I feel so much better today/chase the bad things away" it was never going to be a great song, merely a pleasant way to pass four minutes. If you really want a band this year, go for Mumm-Ra or Assembly now, but when the jewel in your crown only comes in at "quite good", it doesn't look great for The Twang.

Another Slice Of Magic

Another glorious slice of sunny melodic heaven. This band tick all the boxes. Great chorus, great lyrics, great sound. Just great. Bring on the summer.

Song of 2007

Without a doubt this is my song of 2007. Great Indie vibe accompanied by a vocal range not often found within this genre. They are like the Indie version of 'The Streets'!! Download now I tell ya!
