Wow - this album is just tooo good. Man these guys are clever!
Oh my Gawd
You simply have to own this album
Well, the first half is good...!
I purchased Plej as they had come up on last fm as similar to Hird in the search facility and I was looking for something a bit funky but not to obtrusive to listen to during work. After listening to the first 4 tracks on preview I decided that I would cop the full album. Standout tracks are the first four tracks with "lay of the land" and the damn funky "blue" -both getting a funky shuffle goin on in my seat. However as seems the case with this genre of music, no musician can make enough tracks to sustain a full LP and it does go a bit formulaic towards the end. In retrospect, I'd stick to purchasing the selective tracks indvidually or just buy "blue" on its own and then buy the entire Hird LP - Moving On, as I think its more considered and complete as an LP with loads more variety and better ideas.
