iTunes Review

Even before their near-win of the 2005 Mercury Music Prize, Leeds, England’s Kaiser Chiefs had made an imprint on the alt-pop scenes on both sides of the Atlantic; even Lucinda Williams was heard to sing their praises. “I Predict a Riot,” the lead U.S. single from Employment, their debut, was a long-running rock-radio hit that was pretty much impossible to remove from one’s cranium after a couple of spins. Their brisk three-minute slices of modish New Wave recall everything from the early Who (“Riot”) to Cool Britannia-era Blur (“Oh My God”). Employment also finds them throwing in change-ups like “You Can Have It All,” which could be theme music for a remake of Georgy Girl, and the wobbly “What Did I Ever Give You.”

You want it don't you!

If you like rock music your gonna be wanting this album! Its a bit different from what you usually get from the rock shelf and every song is of a uber cool quality. You'll love this if you like jumping around like an idiot or if you just like good music. Employment! The perfect tool for grooming your ears.

Awesome!

The title says it all! Any person who was in doubt whether the Kaiser Chiefs could pull off superb songs like I Predict A Riot, Oh My God and Everyday I Love You Less And Less again will not be anymore after listening to this album! The Kaisers take everything brilliant from their three singles, and put it in the rest of the songs on the album in huge portions, while adding a unique flavour to each! This is one of the only albums that you can truly say every song would do excellently if released as a single! Genius!

I Predict A Riot!

When Tears for Fears sang "Kick out the Style/Bring back the Jam" in "Sowing the Seeds of Love," one can imagine the lads in Kaiser Chiefs raising their mugs of ale in agreement. Comprised of vocalist Ricky Wilson, guitarist Andrew White, bassist Simon Rix, keyboardist Nick Baines, and drummer Nick Hodgson, Kaiser Chiefs resurrected the mod spirit of the Jam in "I Predict a Riot," supercharged class-of-1977 power pop that quickly electrified the British press when it was released in 2004.
