Is Fray going to take over the world?
Cracking 2nd. Fray's writing seems to get better, on 1st impression it seems a little more mellow and Smiths esque but it still has The Courteeners edge. Just hope the boys make it out to Germany for a festival/concert out here.
It's good but no St Jude
i was really looking forward to the release of the 2nd album, and after hearing both "cross my heart and hope to fly" and "you overdid it doll" and i was sure that this was going to be every bit as good as St Jude but sadly it doesn't do it for me. It's still a good album but i feel that there are too many slow songs on here, stand out songs for me are psychophant, scratch my name upon your lips, will it be this way forever and cameo brooch.
Songs that i'll be skipping will be last of the ladies, lullaby and revolver,which was previously one of my favourite courteeners tracks but this one is without doubt the worse version i have ever heard.
overall it is an OK album but it just lacks the energy and excitement of the first album, and that was the primary reason i liked the courteeners so much
