Album Review
A compelling follow-up to his debut, Marked by Heaven, Jake Hamilton delivers more gritty worship anthems on 2011's Freedom Calling. The California-based worship leader recorded the disc at Jesus Culture Atlanta, where the audience seemed primed for his riveting rock performance. Hamilton's intensity adds character to songs such as "War Drums," "Take It All," and "Supernatural Revolution." The rawness of his voice equally matches the pounding of his guitar. The album includes 11 new worship songs; a video of three songs from the live recording; and a 30-minute feature on his life, music, and ministry. Hamilton pulls no punches in his message nor his delivery, leaving no doubt that he believes every word he sings.
