Top album

In many ways a darker more subtle album than ' It's not a rumour'. Some of the tracks ' Love in my eyes' are outstanding, it's unusual to find a track that mixes 1977 post punk tracks with a modern hip hop style beat- Akala does this and manages to pull it off with style and swagger. Akala has taken a look at the opposition and musically and lyrically blown them away, he won't sell as many records and thankfully will never be mainstream, that way he will preserve his unique style. Unmatched, except maybe by Nas.

Better than Graduation and Curtis by miles....

I stumbled upon Akala today, just browsing itunes, and wow this album is great! I have bought Curtis and Graduation, and I honestly believe that Freedom Lasso beats them both. Why isn't Akala more popular? Ad campaign is well needed!

The Rise Of Grime!

This album epitomizes the growth of Grime in the last few years. The album has a wide variety of tracks that flow off the tongue and doesn't try too hard. My recommended track, "I Don't Know", is great in its use of The Cure samples. A brilliant album with a distinct message deserves my rating of 5 out of 5. Nice One Akala!

But it was as part of the British rap and grime scene that Daley would make his biggest impression. Taking the name Akala (a Buddhist term meaning immovable), Daley released his first album, It's Not a Rumour in...
