Customer Reviews
Definitely worth listening to
Contrary to general opinion, I found this very early work by Genesis to be catching, fresh and yes, genuine. I have been listening it for 15 odd years on quite a regular basis because I like the whole album. Accidentally it got stuck in my car CD player and I played it over a couple of times finding it better each time round without worrying whether it was musically this or that, or if the lyrics were supposed to have any pseudo dimension. Also, I find you can listen the whole thing in sequence like god old fashion albums...
From small acorns....
Grade A quality. Gabriel at his best.
Great Early Genesis.. very early
The album only sold about 700 copies when it arrived in 1969 sadly, due to the Title being "From Genesis to Revelation" an upper year who had contacts in the music industry thought it would be a good name.. hmm.. (Genesis as a band name didn't exist yet) so it was immediately shoved in with the religious music and wasn't listened to much (shame really). The boys were only 18 at the time, and still at Charter House. To achieve an album at that age in the late 60's was an achievement in it's own right...
Really worth a listen.
