That Swedish indie-pop singer Lykke Li lived with her family in such locales as Stockholm, Nepal, Morocco, Portugal, and Brooklyn, New York comes through in the myriad of styles that bubble up in her songs. "Get Some," her tribal, inherently catchy 2010 single and perfect follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2008 debut, Youth Novels, gets the remix treatment here, featuring stretched-out and reconfigured versions of the cut from Mike D of the Beastie Boys and perennial cool guy Beck. The original version of the song is a breathy, tough homage to the power of sex appeal, offering the seemingly provocative chorus, "I'm your prostitute/Come get some" but there is no doubt who's in charge and the line itself is a challenge and not an invite. All this while a Bo Diddley beat roils underneath country-western guitars and buzzing synths. Mike D's remix is for the club and Beck's is ideal for cruising in your Escalade. "Paris Blue", which closes out the EP, features Mazzy Star-like amounts of echo and drowsiness.
