Album Review

It only took mainstream British pop punkers Mcfly a mere three-and-a-half years to "earn" themselves a Greatest Hits collection. There's no denying the group's skill when it comes to infectious hook-driven rockers and power ballads, but to call this collection premature is generous. Greatest Hits is essentially a vehicle for three new tunes, "Heart Never Lies," "The Way You Make Me Feel," and "Don't Wake Me Up," and by placing these new cuts in the context of their impressive seven number one singles, it's easy to see why. That said, there's not a dud on here, so disingenuous as it may be, it's hard not to recommend the collection over the band's spotty studio albums.

A great album (:

McFly have had more than their fair share of snubbery and this album shows they really are a great band. The songs are all really good and fun. The lyrics are light but still prove talent. This is a great album, and if anyone wants come off the 'I'm too cool' stool, I'm sure they'd love it.

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Similar to fellow British pop act Busted, London-based McFly came together and quickly won over the youth masses with their boyish charm and lively tales of adolescence. However, while Busted shared commonalities with the punk-edged accessibility of acts like blink-182 and Simple Plan, McFly owed a bit more musically to bands like the Beach Boys. Naming themselves after Michael J. Fox's character from the Back to the Future series, the guys — Danny Jones (guitar/vocals), Tom Fletcher (guitar/vocals),...
