thumbs up forever

this song is an all time classic but people seem to think that jeff's is the original but he covered it and so have many others, jeff's just happens to be the best

Most definitive version of all time

Broken relationships, pain, suffering, love, sacred are rolled into one. The rendition of the song was superb, pure, soulful and simply beautiful. I love and respect the bearer of this song. Ultimately, Jeff is one true legend (RIP).

How can you call this awful?!?!

I have never felt particularly compelled to review a song on here before but I have to respond to the comment that this is awful and doesn't compare to Alexandra Burke (review by MusiclsElectric) Each to their own, but this is an absolutley beautiful version of the song and is widely regarded as the best version since leonard cohen. Jeff Buckley is a legend with a voice so pure that his version of this song makes me cry every time I hear it. Fair enough if you're an Alexandra fan, but there's no need to slag off this version - do you work in PR for the X Factor or something?!?! I'm sure Alex herself would be the first to say she loves the way he sings. In fact, I'll ask her and get back to you as my workmate is one of her friends and was there to support her at the final of X Factor. The song is so peaceful - let's not ruin it with stupid comments please - if you don't like it then don't listen to it!! End of rant. :-)
