Truly epic
Listening to the score for 'Hawk' you could easily be forgiven for thinking it's the soundtrack to a big Hollywood epic, such is the quality of the work on offer. To find this sort of score matched to a short film is superb.
From the sweeping majesty of opening track 'Flight of the Hawk', through the delicate and intimate 'The Land Holds Many Secrets', the dramatic 'Blood Must Be Repaid' and finishing with the incredibly powerful 'The Rising Soul', this really is a soundtrack to savour.
As a lover of film scores, it's exciting to find fresh talent setting the standard and composing such fantastic music.
As lush as a Welsh valley
This soundtrack is best described as BIG... edging maybe towards vast.
Hancock's soaring choral work and luscious orchestration produce an eerily beautiful and impressive score. Powerful and direct, it towers ever upwards, and never disappoints.

Immensely good and not to be missed.

This is a wonderful, majestic and spine-tingling piece of work that fits like a glove to a beautifully shot film. It is a masterpiece of a short film and a credit to Mac and his team...The sounds of the choir that swirl around the score with power of the strings makes it an immense pleasure to listen to on its own, never mind when its full impact hits you with the film itself....Well done.
