iTunes Review

After his major-label band Whiskeytown broke up, Ryan Adams signed with indie alt-country label Bloodshot and made his masterful solo debut, largely with the help of producer Ethan Johns and the totemic duo of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. Packed with great stuff for the No Depression crowd - the epically bereft "Come Pick Me Up" may be his fans' favorite song, and if Buck Owens ever makes another record, it should have "To Be Young" on it. Heartbreaker also scores with moments of baroque pop ("AMY") and a ballad in the Lennonesque-confessional mode ("Sweet Lil Gal"). Finally, Adms wins points for his self-description "as calm as a fruit stand in New York and maybe as strange."

I cant express how amazing this album is

This album is amazing, truly amazing. Listen to feel his true emotion. Brilliant

The first Adams album I bought.(It wasn't the last either)

This is the first Adams album I bought... To say it totally changed my persective regarding music is a gross under statement, I sort of consider myself a soul man. So I wasn’t sure when a friend suggested that I should listen to a bit of Ryan Adams. But when I did I was completely captivated, this man is a true this musical genius his poetic melancholy style simply takes your breath away this is really special Heartbreaker indeed, and although I am still a soul man I’m pretty hooked on Americana too.

Great album

People buy this it is really worth it, great album. My favourite song "come pick me up" at least just buy that song. It really chills you out.

Mixing the heartfelt angst of a singer/songwriter with the cocky brashness of a garage rocker, Ryan Adams is at once one of the few artists to emerge from the alt-country scene to achieve mainstream commercial success and the one who most strongly refused to be defined by the genre, leaping from one spot to another stylistically while following his increasingly prolific muse. Adams was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina in 1974. While country music was a major part of his family's musical diet...
