Album Review
After the "retro-thrash" movement secured a place for itself in the history of 21st century metal, the natural next step was for another similar young-folks-digging-up-the-past subgenre to emerge, and it did. There's a mini-wave (much smaller than the wave of retro-thrash bands, it must be said) of groups blatantly copping the sound of the early-'80s New Wave of British Heavy Metal, and White Wizzard are one of the first out of the gate and into record stores. The seven songs on this brief EP are all in the three- to four-minute range, with no elaborate displays of instrumental technique, no attempts at brutaler-than-thou lyrical aggression, no thoughts beyond getting the listener to pump his or her fist and sing along with the catchy choruses. The riffs are built as much around throbbing Iron Maiden-style basslines as guitar arpeggios, and the vocals are upper-register, clearly enunciated and foregrounded in the mix. If you like Iron Maiden's Killers, you will like White Wizzard. (This incarnation, anyway; most of the musicians — and even the vocalist — present on this recording left the band shortly thereafter to form the group Holy Grail. An almost entirely new White Wizzard is still signed to Earache.)

Party Metal!
A must for fans of vintage style metal! The songs are fist pounding and catchy (especially the title track!), with plenty of oppurtunities for some air guitar. Can't wait to here more from this band!!!
Destined For Bigger Things.
You just have to look at the album cover to see Los Angeles's White Wizzard are not an everyday band. You can hear they were inspired by bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and The Scorpions. The greats basically. Traditional Metal seems to be at its peak now. With the rest of the NWOTM (New Wave Of Tradiotional Metal)bands such as Cauldron, Hysterica, Incarus Witch and Stuka Squadron blossoming all over the world, I can't help but feel most of them will follow their heroes Diamond Head, Saxon and Angel Witch and disapear. White Wizzard on the other hand seem like they are destined for bigger things, you mark my words. This mini album was originally released in 2007 as a demo. Every track on this album sounds like it was written in 1983, but still sounds fresh and exciting. Despite bassist Jon Leon firing the rest of the band after completion he insits the new lineup is better. Lets hope so as vocalist James Paul Luna does a remarkable job. With a full lenth album expected in early 2010 with a new lineup in place. Can't wait!
