"Hollow" is a dramatic hip-hop symphony, with Incyte’s rhymes reflecting on the paranoia currently engulfing 21st century Britain over Culprit 1’s trademark rolling beats and hair-raising cinematic synths. On remix duties is BBC Radio 1Xtra favourite Conflict of Mint, who takes ‘Hollow’ back to the old skool by adding thunderous hip-hop beats and liberal lashings of classic scratching, harking back to the good days of DJ Shadow’s debut. ‘Brasilia’ is where things really climax – a classic Culprit 1 instrumental assimilating a bagful of influences such as Orbital, Boards of Canada and The Chemical Brothers. This track is a true builder, with dramatic chord changes, distorted pianos and swathes of luscious strings.
