iTunes Review

When she first started recording Human Brandy worked with a variety of new producers before reuniting with Rodney Jerkins, her longtime creative partner and mentor. Brandy and Jerkins had not worked together since 2002’s Full Moon and Human finds the pair rekindling their creative chemistry, which is the subject of “Piano Man”. “Finally breathing some clean air,” she sings, “Been through it and seen it / I put my star to fame / Now the spotlight was fading, he just kept on playing...” The rest of the album is a similar mix of fragility and focus. “Camouflage”, “Torn Down”, “Human” and “Shattered Heart” are among the most intense and personal songs Brandy has recorded. “The Definition” is the definitive Jerkins collaboration, a sweet, insistent melody on top of a thumping club rhythm. “True” is the song that best shows the maturity of Brandy’s voice, a poised ballad overseen by RedOne, the songwriting team behind Lady Gaga’s big hits. The hidden gem on Human is surely “A Capella”, a delirious catchy tune that layers dozens of vocal tracks to create a hypnotic atmosphere even without the help of big beats.

An incredible album, forget 'Never Say Never' Brandy is at a new level with this masterpiece.

I was worried following the failure of her last two albums here in the UK, that Brandy wouldn't be able to recreate the magic of 'Never Say Never'. I should not have concerned myself, this album is truly inspirational. I feel so proud. Brandy has grown up, her confidence and contentment clear on this 'track after track' hit packed album, I guarantee you'll be listening repeatedly. There are some big numbers to get excited about; 'The definition' 'Warm it up' 'Camouflage' 'Gonna Find My Love' to name just a handful. 'Right Here (departed') is the perfect first single and is a good nod to the albums feel but isn't, in my opinion, the best track here. Second single 'Long Distance' stole my heart, the A Capella version is breathtaking, the single version has gorgeous and seductive piano rifts, this is a power ballad of monstrous proportions. 'Piano Man' is a standout track with outstanding production, whilst 'A Capella (somethings missing)' has no production at all, just Brandy using her own her soulful voice to create an a capella track with a twist. Please buy this album, it deserves to be a huge hit.

Shockingly Beautiful !!!

I have always liked the odd Brandy song but was never a fan as such, that was until i heard this album and boy is it Fantastic from beginning to end. I am not a fan of interludes, in fact i hate them and i can't stand acapella songs either so i skip these parts, nonetheless what is left is one Fantastically Beautiful album that blew me away, Thank you Brandy and keep it up girl. Real heartfelt music in todays sea of rubbish is so rare but this certainly hits the spot. Buy it now, you won't be disappointed, i certainly wasn't.

Like Cold Water to Quench your Thirst

I cant even place a favourite on this album.. but im glad to say that for the first time we actually have some real music from a real human, '1st in Love' is becoming a Favourite, as well as 'FAll' .. 'Definition' gripping.. ..'Warm it Up with love', is a so inspirational.. along with some of the others.. she did say it was message driven and she more than delivered..I expect to see some sold out concerts in the near future
