if this is not NUMBER 1, something is wrong somewhere!!!
This is THE England World Cuup single for this (2006) World Cup! The Embrace single is all very 'nice' and well crafted, but never in a million yeats will it be sung on the terraces to lift the team's spirits if they wobble. The Embrace song is one to help you drown your sorrows (along with multiple pints) if England are knocked out in Round 1. England can, and will, win the World Cup if everyone rallies behind them and this song. Sung from German terraces it will terrify the opposition and lift our team. It's a great song - and all theses years on, SHAM 69 still rock, with heart! I was at the video shoot, and live, it's pure magic. I should know - I pogo-ed madly through 9 'takes' in temperatures reaching 90 degrees at Hard Rock Cafe. If allthat wasn't enough, the proceeds of sales go to TEENAGE CANCER TRUST! Enough, just shell out that 0.79p and make yourself feel really good!!! Respect, Jimmy Percy and the rest of Sham 69, Christian O'Connell et al. HURRY UP ENGLAND - WE'RE GOIN' TO WIN THE CUP! Believe!!!
English peoples song to be proud of
I was listening to a radio show the other night and heard this song that was played by accident, it grabed me instantaneosly, they then played the other version, which seemed to be spritiless. Anyway think this is a number one. This is an English peoples song to be proud of
REAL PEOPLE'S ANTHEM
I love the lyrics on this version, really captures what will be happening this summer. I read on their website that all the money they make goes to straight to charity. If you like things a bit heavier and up tempo them you have to buy track 2. Excellent ! I feel that this is the REAL people's anthem because it captures the feel of this summers world cup perfectly, most of us will be watching it either at home or down the pub. LOVE IT ! !
