Mr. Brightside pop rocked
I'm a big fan of the Killers and when my band decided to cover Mr. Brightside I went out to find all the versions, mixes and remixes i could get hold of. I found this McFly cover and was pleasantly surprised to find that the guitar parts had been reworked so that they are actually technically much better than the original and rely a lot less on fancy production and multitracking, a plus when performing live because there is none, though Mcfly have moved it into a guitar key and made it easier to phrase, something our synth player refuses to let me do. However, I do think that at times the vocals are weak and although Brandon Flowers vocals, if judged by his live disregard for key and tune, are not the toughest benchmark I think that McFly could have been more consistent, perhaps by choosing their best singer and having the rest do backing, though i do like those close harmonies in the pre-chorus... very pop

How good is Dougie on this Record i love the killers but this version is very different but still great! Well done Dougie!
Mcfly are the best!!
Give mcfly a break! This album is 1 of there best albums so far, the songs are really catchy! When i heard mcfly had covered a killers song i was surprised but it is fantastic! Dougie is a great singer and should sing more songs! I think mcfly and the killers should maybe do a song together, it would be different but great!! I LOVE Mcfly!!!! x x x x x
