Well isn't that title just mildly appropriate?

Come on people, lets give credit where its due! No matter what your personal opinions of Robbie 'The Man' may be theres no denying Robbie Williams 'The Performer' is a force to be reckoned with. He is probably one of the best male 'pop stars' to come out of Britain. His early work is undisputably brilliant, (there's a reason why 'Angels' was awarded song of the century), and whilst his latter efforts dwelled deep into the realms of eccentricity, they maintained a catchy rhythm laced with meaningful (sometimes obscure) lyrics; albeit requiring a slightly more acquired taste for maximum enjoyment. So lets not be musical snobs, and acknowledge the impact Williams has had on 21st century Brit-Pop.

should have given up after the 2nd album

think most people will agree that Robbie had been heavily reliant on Guy Chambers for his musical output and when that relationship started to wain- so did Robbies ability to construct a tune- admittedly on the 3rd album there were some songs that were liked- but his rejoining of take that really does seem like a career move to get his own solo career back on track after a brief reunion. the start of his career was desperate with freedom- peaked with angels and fell off the rails with the last two albums- Im sure he wont be happy with his output over recent albums!!!

Brilliant.

Robbie is the UK's best popstar ever. He has so many great hits, and they all sound really different. The new song 'Heart And I' is really good too. My favourite of all his songs is 'No Regrets'. Didn't like the 'Rudebox' era, but thankfully it was relatively short. His lyrics are fearless and he is one of a kind. Download it now!

Genre: Pop

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Out of all the members of Take That, Robbie Williams never really seemed to fit in. Roguishly handsome where his bandmates were merely cute, Williams was tougher and sexier than the rest, which made him more distinctive. He also fought regularly with the other members and their management, primarily because he was occasionally adverse to being so heavily packaged. So it didn't come as a surprise that he was the first to leave the band, departing early in the summer of 1995 to pursue a solo career...
