Genius

Do not dismiss this band as emo... this album is heart felt hard hitting sound that does not deserve an emo label... a fantastic debut from the lads... cant wait to see what the future holds also growing old is a b-side... if u buy a hard copy in store u wont get that song on it...

An astonishing success story

I first heard about the Xcerts when I learned they were to support Feeder at an album launch gig in Glasgow. Keen to sample the sounds before I saw them I downloaded the songs that were available on Itunes: Do you feel safe and Just go home. Ferociously catchy, punky, young and rich sounds overcame me, and i was soon mesmerised by the lyrics. After the band seeing me sing along to the lyrics at the gig I got the chance to meet and chat with them afterwards, 3 of the nicest guys you could possibly hope for. So after much discussion (and helping Tom to get a cork out of his red wine bottle!) I left with a feeling of excitement for them. Scottish Rock music has some stalwarts, Biffy Clyro, Idlewild, Franz Ferdinand. The Xcerts lean more to the Biffy sound, but still retains its unique blend of Anguish, passion and fire. I promise you this album is a MUST have purchase, so you can look back when they are superstars and say... I remember the first time I heard 'In the cold wind we smile'....
