In Through the Out Door, Led Zeppelin’s final studio album, was also one of the few pre-SoundScan era releases to debut atop the Billboard chart. Coming after a three-year-plus wait, the record delivers some of Zeppelin’s most ambitious work. The Latin-tinged “Fool in the Rain” again demonstrates the quartet’s unique approach to dance music, while the pomp-rock spectacular “Carouselambra” allows John Paul Jones’ keyboards to take the spotlight. The definitively silly country romp “Hot Dog,” though, is maybe the least typical thing to ever come from this always surprising band. And the album's closer, “I’m Gonna Crawl,” proves that Led Zep had hardly forgotten the meat-and-potatoes thud that first won them an audience. If a great band need leave the stage, let it always be with such happily venturesome sounds.

how can anyone not like this album, I bought it when it first came out on vinyl and just like all other led zep albums it came across as being totally original and worth the wait, Hey!!! even my old man liked some of the tracks, And he'd banged on my door for years telling me to turn that down. If you havent heard it yet buy it now!!!!
CLASSIC LED ZEPPELIN!
Can't believe the poor reviews for this album. This is classic Led Zeppelin.As with most Led Zeppelin albums you need to play a few times to get into the feel of the album but believe me after 3 plays you'll appreciate and understand my enthusiasm. Great value at £4.99
Filler
This album originally came in a brown paper bag which helped to protect the inner sleeve, which if you dared you could wet it and colours appeared through the black and white drawing. The sound of this album was not as immaginative as the cover. Parts of 'Carouselambra' and the intro to 'In the evening' had a synth sound which was the way to go in the late 70s into the syth dominated 1980s. Apart from that tracks 2 to 4 were standard Led Zep rock and roll and the last two standard Led Zep blues based slow burners. A filler album.
