The soul of electronic music
At long last a comprehensive box set of the era defining, sublime pairing of Yazoo. Reunited, touring again and new mixes, it must be my birthday! This set comprises of both albums, a remix CD and a DVD with some rare and fascinating appearances on TOTP. The soulful Alison Moyet and the techno wizardry of Vince Clarke, although their time was brief, shouldn't be underestimated as an influence for other bands. Pet Shop Boys, for example. Interestingly, in the booklet contained in this box set, there is a snippet of an interview with Neil Tennant regarding Yazoo. A must for all true fans of electronic music. £10.99? Priceless more like!
At long last!
At long last, Mute release all of Yazoo's works in one neat little remastered packagae! Not before time, absolutely fantastic, let's hope Erasure's back catalogue is next!
Superb!!
At £10.99 it's £1 more than play and 7digital but on comparing the downloads the quality of itunes plus beat them both! Goodbye 70s (my fave track from Upstairs at Erics) truly thumps out and I found myself hearing details in the music I had not heard before. By the way I do own the original CDs of these albums but they simply do not stand up to the quality here. Seriously considered buying the CD/DVD package but at this price and quality it really is a steal! Can't wait to see them live in Manchester next week!
