Album Review

Joss Stone defiantly titled her third album Introducing Joss Stone, dismissing her first two albums with one smooth stroke. Stone claims those records were made under record label pressure, but as a young adult of 19, she's free to pursue her muse in her own fashion. However, Introducing Joss Stone isn't radically different from what Stone has done before. The professional in-the-pocket grooves have been replaced by drum loops, the warm burnished sound has been ditched in favor of crisp, bright sonics, Harlan Howard covers are pushed aside for cameos by Common and Lauryn Hill. It's a cosmetic change that works: Introducing does sound brighter, fresher than her other two albums, pitched partway between Amy Winehouse and Christina Aguilera, yet sounding very much like Texas at their prime.

Its a Fake plastic tree.

Like many others I have been waiting and waiting for this album, excited by the fact Joss was going to do it her way. after the first play i felt a little dissapointed by the end of the third play I just felt cheated. Yeah Joss' Vocals are still amazing (that wont change until voice finally gives in from missuse) but the sound of the album just feels cheap. Why have they used real drummers on the album when in production they have stiffled the sound to make them all sound like drum machines. There is absolutly no soul in this album the production is terrible and the whole album just sounds weak. Finally Baby Baby Baby has to be one of the most Irritating songs i have ever heard! the whole album just feels fake. I hope it sounds better live, with a band that have soul.

The Diva returns in purrfect form!!!!

she is back and this album is packed with so many good songs highlights: Girl They Won't Believe It.Headturner.Tell me what we gonna do now.Music.Arms of my baby.Bruised but not broken. Just buy the whole album its so utterly worth it!!! songs Girl They Won't Believe It- Very swayable, catchy, nice and happy. Headturner- Funky and stylish, smooth gitar solo. Tell Me 'Bout It- Seeing this as one of the songs of the summer. Tell Me What We're Gonna Do Now- simple, clean and oh so beautiful. Put Your Hands On Me- upbeat and fresh. Music- Another funky and cool. Arms of My Baby- Cool (all I can say!) Bad Habit- music in groovy proportions. Proper Nice- Subtle but so lovely. Bruised But Not Broken- One of my favz as it is one of the most beautiful on the album. Baby Baby Baby-This sounds like another summer tune!!
