Alexis Strum - Le Coeur De La Mere
Alexis Strum is UK's "Le Coeur De La Mere", i.e. The Heart of the Ocean. Her words are simple yet pure and her melodies eternally romantic. With any piece of music, if one were to disintegrate it piece by piece, you could find a million faults . I prefer to view it as a piece of creative work in its entirety under the notion that either it touches me or not. Her music does...
Go straight for Bent
She has good song writing ability let down by poor production. However, the Bent remix of 'Why Me, Why Now?' is super smooth with lots of lush strings. It would be great if Alexis had a whole album produced by these chaps. I would skip the other tracks though - they just plod along. The star rating is for the Bent Remix only.
