Superb

Róisín’s voice is incredible and her band/singers are fantastic as well. This version of You Know Me Better is particularly good. I saw her at the Roundhouse in London recently - superb show. I love the imaginative arrangements that they come up with, which keep the songs very fresh.

Roisin Gold

I won tickets to see this gig but couldn't go for various reasons so I have been waiting for this to be released as a download. I'm not disappointed. If anyone has heard Live at Ancienne Belgique (Roisin's Live Album) then you will love this! At first thought, these particular songs would probably not be the best for acoustic versions, but the treatment of them is perfect and they still retain the energy of the original dancier versions!

Perfect

I was one of the lucky ones who had the privilege of being at this show, and it was, quite simply awesome. Hearing the songs 'stripped' down acoustically can have it's challenges, and particularly when the songs are quite upbeat and dancy in their original format. But Roisin and her band obviously embraced this challenge and the results are excellent, the songs are beautiful. The show was great and it's great to hear the songs again and again. My only disappointment is that the whole set wasn't included, especially the 'goosebump-inducing' 'Scarlet Ribbons' that she performed with Tony Christie. Please release it! Download these tracks, dim the lights, ignite some candles, press play, curl up on the sofa and drift somewhere heavenly.

Genre: Pop

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Dublin-born singer Róisín Murphy moved from Ireland to Manchester, England, with her family when she was 12, and remained there even after her parents returned to Dublin four years later. On her own at 16, Murphy had no aspirations of singing until she met producer Mark Brydon, with whom she formed the eclectic electronic pop duo Moloko. The pair's stylish-yet-quirky sound scored them several hits, including "Sing It Back," "The Time Is Now," and "Fun for Me." By the time of Moloko's fourth album,...
