A startling return to form
In a world where everything has to sound a bit like somebody else, this is genuinely like nothing else you will ever hear. I've been a fan of Momus since the early 1990s but I'd lost interest in the last 2 or 3 albums, they just weren't as good as his other albums. But this is a definite return to form. Best songs are 'Widow Twanky', 'The Vaudevillian' and 'The Next Time'. It would be great to have his complete back catalogue on iTunes, there is so much brilliance there; Voyager, Timelord, Monsters Of Love, Don't Stop The Night, Tender Pervert, Stars Forever - all works of genius.

Momus was the alias of Nick Currie, a Scottish-born singer, songwriter, and provocateur whose music careened from acoustic ballads to electro-pop to acid house and back again. Born in 1960, Currie spent time living in Greece and Canada before returning to Scotland to attend university; in 1981, he dropped out of school to form the Happy Family, a band additionally comprised of three prior members...
