Katie Buckhaven
Katie has a terrific voice; it ranges from sweet and gentle to fierce and sexy and it will send shivers down your spine. This is her first album and eight of the twelve tracks on it are her own compositions, showing her to be as skilful a composer and lyricist as she is performer. There are wistful love songs and edgy life commentaries here, all sung to superb accompaniments. Dylan's 'If Not For You' and Christine McVie's 'Songbird are sensitively covered and 'Yolanda', sung in Spanish, and Leonard Cohen's 'Famous Blue Raincoat" bring out a deep richness in Katie's singing. I discovered this fine CD by chance and hope there will be a follow-up soon.

I can confirm a followup is imminent - Katie is finishing off her next album, which should be available spring 08. :o)
