Lovely
A native of Fife, and the man behind dozens of self-penned albums, this album marks the first collaboration of Kenny Anderson with cult favourites The Earlies on backing duties. If you imagine wandering into a pub on a craggy island off the coast of Scotland, to see an acoustic band presenting a musical feast, where the music is clearly Celtic in origin, but beautifully laid back and inventive, touching, sad and beautiful, you'll have an idea of how this album feels on first listen. Repeated listenings reveal deeper layers of beauty and poignancy. The emphasis is kept on the songs, and their simplicity is half the reason they work so well - there are no spare moments, no song goes on for longer than it should, and none are obviously derivative. Lovely, and a real grower.
The King of Fife
Classic Kenny (KC) brought together on this fabulous album. My favourite girl and not one bit ashamed are a must. Bound to bring you to tears. Marguerita Red is fanastic too. Buy it now.
